Power Steering Pump: Disassembly

  1. Remove pulley. See POWER STEERING PUMP & PULLEY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove flow control valve and spring. Remove rear housing bolts. Separate rear housing from front housing. Remove retaining ring from front housing.
  2. Using a press, press pump shaft out the front of front housing. Press bearing off pump shaft. Using Slide Hammer Puller (T85L-101-B), pull seal from front housing.
  3. Remove cam ring/rotor assembly from rear housing. Place a match mark on rotor for reassembly reference. Remove 2 guide pins from rear housing. Disassemble rotor and vanes from cam ring.
