July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

G8 - Check MAF Sensor

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, and connect PCM to breakout box.

- Start engine and allow to idle until engine is at normal operating temperature.

- Measure voltage between Mass Air Flow (MAF) signal and test pin 40 or 60. Refer to pinpoint test DC - Mass Air Flow Sensor/Sensor Data. DC - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor

- Is voltage within the acceptable range?

Yes -- Sometime during the last 80 warm-up cycles the MAF sensor signal indicated out of range. However, at this time Electronic Engine Controls (EEC) system is operating OK. Remove breakout box. Reconnect PCM. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Replace MAF sensor. Remove breakout box. Reconnect PCM. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
