Engine Coolant Specifications: Thermostat

On 4 and 6-cylinder engines, thermostat is located in thermostat housing on cylinder head. On V8 engines, thermostat is located in thermostat housing on intake manifold. Test thermostat to make sure it starts to open and is fully open at specified temperatures.
