	Remove
1	Start engine and warm up to operating temperature.	Operating temperature is reached at an oil temperature of approx. 80 °C. Only check compression pressure for an engine is at operating temperature.
2	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).
3	Remove glow plugs.

	Preparation
4	Disconnect engine wiring harness electrical connector 1 (X26/46x1).
5	Attach connection line (4) for the compression pressure recorder (1) to engine wiring harness electrical connector 1 (X26/46x1).	To this end, insert suitable connection line (4) at pin 8 (arrow). Electrical connection kit	Fig 2
6	Connect compression pressure recorder (1) to jump-start connection point electrical connector (X4/43).	Compression tester	Fig 4
7	Crank engine with compression pressure recorder (1).	To this end, connect connection line (4) to compression pressure recorder (1). To remove combustion residues from the cylinders. Compression tester	Fig 4

9	Connect compression pressure recorder (1) to respective screw-in piece (3).	Compression tester	Fig 4

10	Check compression pressure.	To this end, crank engine over the contact switch on compression pressure recorder (1). Turn engine through at least eight revolutions. Installation tolerance or new value of compression pressure	*BE01.00-N-1001-04TS
