• Always use the latest  XENTRY Diagnosis software release with all available add-ons.
• Make sure to follow the operation steps exactly as described in XENTRY Diagnosis!
• Use a battery charger to ensure sufficient power supply of the vehicle on-board electrical system battery  (greater than 12.5 V).
• If XENTRY Diagnosis is already connected to the vehicle, start with Work Procedure Step   2 . 

If two or more software updates or SCN codings are performed during a single workshop visit, operation items 02-4762 and 02-5058  must only be invoiced once for each Repair Order! 

Update the control units in the sequence given below one after the other.  If XENTRY cannot  locate any new software for a control unit, then move on to the next  control unit listed. Depending on the given control unit update, XENTRY can automatically update several control units, if necessary. Do not  interrupt this process and continue only after XENTRY has completed the current update process.

The control units must be individually selected, one after the other  , for SCN coding in Step   3 . 

WORK PROCEDURE

1. Connect XENTRY Diagnosis.
2. Update Battery management system (BMS)  control unit software.

   To do this, select menu item "Quick test view → N82/9 - Battery management system (BMS)  → Adaptations → Control unit update → Updating of control unit software".

   Follow the user guidance in XENTRY Diagnosis.

   Then update the following list of control units in the sequence given below:

   1. (A26/17) MBUX multimedia system (Head Unit) 
   2. (B29/13) Left rear short-range radar (NBR-LR) 
   3. (N162) Ambiance light (AML) 
   4. (N156/1) Active driving sound compensation (ASX7) 
   5. (A40/11) Multifunction camera (MFK) 
   6. (N32/1) Electrical seat adjustment 'Driver' with memory function (ESA 'Driver') 
   7. (N32/2) Electrical seat adjustment 'Front passenger' with memory function (ESA 'Front passenger') 
   8. (N51/8) ADS (Adaptive damping system) 
   9. (N2/10) Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) 

   After the software updates have been completed, SCN coding must be performed for the following control units in the sequence given below: 

3. Perform SCN coding in the AC charger for high-voltage battery (SG-LG)  control unit.

   To do so, select menu item "Quick test view → N83/11 - AC charger for high-voltage battery (SG-LG)  → Adaptations → Control unit update → Updating of SCN coding".

   Then follow the user guidance in XENTRY Diagnosis.

   Update the following list of control units in the same way.

   1. (N10/6) Front signal acquisition and actuation module (Driver-side SAM) 
   2. (N10/8) Rear signal acquisition and actuation module (Rear SAM) 
   3. (N179) Hand detection system (HE) 
   4. (N62) Parking system (PARK) 
4. Disconnect XENTRY Diagnosis.
