Component Description For Distronic Electric Controller Unit - GF30.30-P-3213GW
Model 463as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019
with code EZ9 (Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC)
Shown on model 463.23
Location
The DISTRONIC controller unit is integrated on the left in the front bumper
Tasks
The DISTRONIC controller unit fulfills the following tasks:
- Power supply and actuation of the integral long range radar
- Evaluation of target data for the integral long range radar
- Control of the target evaluation (long range radar)
The control unit integrated in the DISTRONIC controller unit actuates the long range radar and evaluates the target data. The DISTRONIC controller unit transmits the target data for the long range radar via the dynamics CAN (CAN H) (up to 31.08.2015) or the chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1) (as of 01.09.2015) to the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4).
This means that the DISTRONIC controller unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in input factors
- Evaluation of input factors
- Transmission of initial parameters
Reading in input factors
The DISTRONIC controller unit reads for example the following input factors via dynamics CAN (up to 31.08.2015) or chassis CAN 1 (as of 01.09.2015):
- Wheel speeds and wheel rotation direction
- Acceleration/yaw rate
- Steering wheel angle
- Vehicle speed
- Brake pedal position
- Accelerator pedal position
- Radar request
- Diagnosis request
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor whereupon the relevant requests and information are then issued.
Transmission of initial parameters
The DISTRONIC controller unit transmits, for example, the following initial parameters via dynamics CAN (up to 31.08.2015) or chassis CAN 1 (as of 01.09.2015):
- Request to increase/reduce engine torque
- Request to increase/limit gear range
- Request to increase/reduce braking torque
- Request to emit warning tones, system or warning messages
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Structure
The DTR controller unit contains the following assembly parts:
- Long-range radar sensor
- Control unit
Properties of the long-range radar sensor:
- Detection range: 0 to 200 m at a detection angle of 18°
- Detection range 0 to 60 m at a detection angle of 60°
- Frequency: 77 GHz operating on the pulse-Doppler principle for independent measurement of distance and speed
The DISTRONIC controller unit must be newly adjusted after exchange (e.g. after an accident repair) using the integrated "service adjustment mode".
