Function requirements, general

Control functions: circuit 15 ON
Climate control: Engine running.

The CDI control unit or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit forwards the "Engine running" signal over the engine CAN to the powertrain control unit over the peripherals CAN to the electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit. The EZS control unit sends the circuit status of "circuit 15" as well as the "Engine running" signal to the SAM control unit via the interior CAN.

The ventilation, heating, air conditioning functions are actuated centrally over the SAM control unit. The individual components are operated using the corresponding controls.

Cab

There are 2 different versions of the air conditioning system installed in the cab:

Climate control with 1-zone temperature control with CODE HH9 (Semi-automatically controlled air conditioning, TEMPMATIC)
Climate control with 1-zone temperature control with code HH4 (THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control)

There are 3 different versions of the auxiliary heating installed in the cab:

With CODE H12 (Auxiliary water heater)
With code HH2 (Electric warm air auxiliary heater)
with code HZ9 (Heater booster)

Passenger/load compartment

There are 3 different versions of the air conditioning system installed in the passenger/load compartment:

With code HH7 (Standard roof-mounted air conditioning system)
With code H08 (Uprated roof-mounted air conditioning system)
With CODE HK4 (Rear A/C, enhanced)

There are 2 different versions of the auxiliary heating installed in the passenger/load compartment:

With CODE H11 (Warm air auxiliary heater)
With code H13 (Rear additional heat exchanger)

Roof ventilator:

With code H72 (Electric roof ventilator II)

Refrigerant

At the "M1" car registration the air conditioning systems are filled with refrigerant R-1234yf.
At the "N1/N2" truck registration the air conditioning systems are filled with refrigerant R-134a.
