	Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. 	Remove/install
1	Remove tailpipe (4).		AR49.10-D-7155TSC
2	Release clamp (1).	: Check clamp (1) for damage and wear. Clamp, center muffler to catalytic converter If clamp (1) is damaged or worn, ↓ Replace clamp (1).	*BA49.10-N-1003-02F
3	Unhook decoupling elements (6) and remo center exhaust system (2).	Aid of helper required. : Remove combustion and corrosion residues from separating points with rotary wire brush. Remove combustion and corrosion residues from the separating point on the center exhaust system (2) only when reusing the center exhaust system (2). : Coat contact surface of the center exhaust system (2) to the catalytic converter with heat-resistant lubricating paste. Ensure unstressed and correct installation position and unobstructed movement of the center exhaust system (2). Commercially available devices/tools  Rotary wire brush
		Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20	*BR00.45-Z-1005-06A
	Check
4	Check decoupling elements (6) for damage and wear.	If decoupling elements (6) are damaged or worn, ↓  Replace decoupling elements (6).
5	Install in the reverse order
	Check
6	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Perform engine test run and check exhaust system in terms of leak tightness.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
