	Remove/install
1	Raise vehicle.		AR00.60-D-1000-04TS
	Special instructions for lifting and supporting vehicle		AH00.60-N-0100-01TS
2	Remove underbody paneling.	If installed. Installation:  Install underfloor paneling only after the leak test.	AR61.30-D-1001TS
3	Loosen clamp (2).	: Check clamp (2) for damage and wear. Clamp, exhaust pipe to SCR catalytic converter  If clamp (2) is damaged or worn, ↓ Replace clamp (2).	*BA49.10-N-1002-02TS
4	Unhook decoupling element (3) from tailpipe (1).	Installation:  Check decoupling element (3) for damage and wear. If the decoupling element (3) is damaged or worn, ↓ replace decoupling element (3).
5	Remove tailpipe (1).	Have second person help.  Installation:  Remove combustion and corrosion residues from separating points with rotary wire brush. Remove combustion and corrosion residues from separating point on tailpipe (1) only when reusing the tailpipe (1). : Coat contact surface of the tailpipe (1) to the SCR catalytic converter with heat-resistant lubricating paste. Ensure unstressed and correct installation position or unobstructed movement of the tailpipe (1). Commercially available devices/tools  Rotary wire brush

6	Install in the reverse order
	Check
7	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Perform engine test run and check exhaust system in the area of the clamp (2) for leak tightness.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
