Left Hand Drive: Removal

NOTE:
If the Body Computer control unit needs replacement on vehicles equipped with mechanical key, an identical copy of the Body Computer must be obtained from the Spare Parts Dpt. as a V.O.R. order, with details about the vehicle chassis number. This copy will contain all the default settings entered when the vehicle was new which are stored in the Spare Parts Dpt. database for the vehicle chassis number.
NOTE:
If the Body Control Module is replaced on vehicles equipped with the Passive Entry key:
- connect the diagnosis equipment to the vehicle diagnosis socket, go to "BCM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "BCM control unit replacement" procedure;
- with the key at OFF and the hazard warning light button activated, go to "RFHM control unit" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Secret key transfer to the BCM" procedure.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the cowl trim panel. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Remove the screw (1a) and move the diagnosis connector mounting (1b) aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connections (1).
- Use a suitable tool to release the pin (2a) from the bracket (2b).
- Rotate the body computer (1a), release the retainers (1b) and move the Body Computer aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connections (2).
- Remove the Body Computer assembly (1a).
