Gasoline Injection And Ignition System With Direct Injection, Function - GF07.70-D-0002TSB

Engine 274 in model 907

ME-SFI [ME] control unit networking

G13786560

Gasoline injection and ignition system with DI, general

The gasoline injection and ignition system with direct injection in electrical combination with the sensors and actuators of engine 274 forms the engine management system.

The entire engine management is located in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/36). The engine management reads in the sensor data directly as well as indirectly via the CAN bus and the corresponding actuators are actuated.

The individual functions and systems of the engine management are coordinated by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit.

The engine management is subdivided into the following systems:

Basic functions

IMPORTANTDiagnosis:

For diagnostic purposes, the fault codes of the engine management can be read out and deleted and individual diagnostic functions can be specifically actuated.

IMPORTANTCAN network:

The ME-SFI [ME] control unit exchanges data via the connected drive CAN (CAN C) and engine CAN (CAN C1) with other control units that are integrated in the CAN network.

IMPORTANTControl unit programming:

The engine management in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit is programmable, i. e. the software of the control unit can be exchanged (replaced). The software required for control unit programming can be found on the diagnosis system software DVD.

IMPORTANTVariant coding:

With the variant coding, the following variants - for example - can be activated with XENTRY Diagnostics:

Engine system

Fuel injection system

Ignition system

Exhaust regulation

The operating conditions of the engine and the associated active partial functions of the engine management are described in the following documents:
