Remove/Install Power Steering Radiator - Ar46.25-D-3020TSX

Model 907 with code ZG1 (Engageable all-wheel drive) 

Model 907 with code ZG3 (Engageable all-wheel drive with gear reduction)

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove radiator grille.   AR88.40-D-4001TS
2 Return hose line (3). SI Clamp Fig 2
3.1 Loosen spring bracket clamp (7) and slide toward rear along return hose line (3). If spring bracket clamp (7) is installed.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Hose clamp pliers Fig 1
3.2 Loosen screw clamp (9) and slide toward rear along return hose line (3). If screw clamp (9) is installed.  
4 Remove return hose line (3) from cooler (1). IMPORTANT Plug openings.
Collect escaping hydraulic fluid using a suitable absorbent rag.

5 Pinch off low-pressure hose (2). SI Clamp Fig 2
6.1 Loosen spring bracket clamp (10) and slide toward rear along low-pressure hose (2). If spring bracket clamp (10) is installed.

6.2 Loosen screw clamp (11) and slide toward rear along low-pressure hose (2). If screw clamp (11) is installed.  
7 Remove low-pressure hose (2) from cooler (1). IMPORTANT Plug openings.
Collect escaping hydraulic fluid using a suitable absorbent rag.

8 Remove crossbar (6). IMPORTANT To do this, remove the bolts (5).  
9 Remove cooler (1). IMPORTANT For this purpose, remove bolts (4).  
INSTALLING Install     
10 Install cooler (1). IMPORTANT Screw in screw/bolts (4) to do this.  
11 Install crossbar (6). IMPORTANT Screw in bolts (5) to do this.  
12 Dispose of spring bracket clamp (7) and replace with screw clamp (9). If spring bracket clamp (7) is installed.  
13 Dispose of spring bracket clamp (10) and replace with screw clamp (11). If spring bracket clamp (10) is installed.  
INSPECT Check     
14 Check screw clamp (9) for damage. If screw clamp (9) is installed. If damage exists,

Replace screw clamp (9).
 
15 Check screw clamp (11) for damage. If screw clamp (11) is installed. If damage exists,

Replace screw clamp (11).
 
16 Remove stop plugs and attach low-pressure hose (2) to cooler (1). NOTES
Install low-pressure hose (2) up to end position at connection of cooler (1) and align marking (arrow B) with marking on connection of cooler (1). Leaks can occur otherwise.

17 Slide screw clamp (11) along low-pressure hose (2) and secure. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw clamp, low-pressure hose/return hose line to power steering system cooler If vertical lines or marking (arrow B) on low-pressure hose (2) are no longer visible.

Position screw clamp (11) as per dimension (b).

18 Remove stop plugs and attach return hose line (3) to cooler (1). NOTES
Install return hose line (3) up to end position at connection of cooler (1) and align marking (arrow A) with marking on connection of cooler (1).
Leaks can occur otherwise.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
19 Slide screw clamp (9) along return hose line (3) and secure. IMPORTANT Screw clamp (9) must be positioned, as shown, between vertical lines of marking (arrow A) on return hose line (3).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw clamp, low-pressure hose/return hose line to power steering system cooler If vertical lines or marking (arrow A) on return hose line (3) are no longer visible. ↓
Position screw clamp (9) as per dimension (a).

20 Remove clamps from low-pressure hose (2) and return hose line (3). SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 2
21 Install radiator grille.   AR88.40-D-4001TS
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01
22 Fill hydraulic power steering and bleed.   AR46.25-D-3300-02TSX 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Steering gear oil *BF46.00-N-1001-01A
