Remove/Install Wiring Harness For Starter & Alternator - Ar15.18-D-0009TS

Wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1), shown as an example

	Remove
1	Remove the on-board electrical system battery.		AR54.10-D-0009TSR
2	Detach ground line from auxiliary battery.	Model 907 with code E2I (Auxiliary battery for retrofit consumers, interior)	AR54.10-D-0004TS

3	Remove the nut (2) and disconnect the positive line (1.1) from the battery clamp (3).
4	Remove the duct (1.2) from the battery box (4).
5	Remove the carrier plate (1.3) for the wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1) on the catch hooks (1.9).
6	Raise vehicle.		AR00.60-D-1000-04TS

7	Remove lower engine compartment lining.	Model 907 with engine 651 with code MJ8 (ECO start/stop function) with code XM1 (Noise reduction)	AR61.20-D-1105TS
8	Remove underfloor panels.	Model 907 with engine 651 with code MJ8 (ECO start/stop function) with code XM1 (Noise reduction)	AR61.30-D-1001TS
9	Expose the positive line (1.1) and remove it from the bottom of the battery box (4).
10	Release and disconnect electrical connector (8).
11	Remove the clamp (5) for the electrical wiring harness (6).
12	Remove cover (7).	The cover (7) is secured with 6 catch hooks (7.1).
13	Release and disconnect electrical connectors (9).
14	Release the couplings for the electrical connectors (9) and remove them from the carrier plate (1.3).
15	Release the cover (10) and fold up.
16	Remove the nuts (11), expose the electrical lines on the carrier plate (1.3) and remove.	Note the assembly position for the electrical lines.
17	Release the wiring harness bracket (1.4) and remove it from the body.	Three wiring harness brackets (1.4) are installed.
18	Remove the wiring harness duct (1.5) under the engine.	The wiring harness duct (1.5) is secured with 2 screws.
19	Remove the positive line (1.6) from the alternator (12).
20	Expose the positive line (1.8) for the starter and remove it from the starter.		AR15.30-D-7100TSR
21	Expose the electrical line to the jump-start connection point (1.7) on the engine.
22	Release the jump-start connection point (1.7) on the air filter housing (13) and remove.
23	Remove the wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1) with a helper.
	Install
24	Install the wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1) with a helper and position.
25	Attach the jump-start connection point (1.7) on the air filter housing (13).
26	Fix the electrical line from the jump-start connection point (1.7) on the engine.
27	Attach the positive line (1.8) on the starter and fix.		AR15.30-D-7100TSR
28	Attach the positive line (1.6) on the alternator (12).	Nut, electrical line to alternator	*BA15.40-N-1001-01TS
29	Attach the wiring harness duct (1.5) under the engine.	The wiring harness duct (1.5) is secured with 2 screws.
30	Attach the wiring harness bracket (1.4) on the body.	Three wiring harness brackets (1.4) are installed.
31	Secure the carrier plate (1.3) for the wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1) on the catch hooks (1.9) in the battery box (4).
32	Position the electrical lines on the carrier plate (1.3), fix and attach the nuts (11).	Note the assembly position for the electrical lines. Nut, positive line to battery positive line connection on underbody	*BA54.18-N-1002-02TS
33	Fold down the cover (10) and lock.
34	Attach the couplings for the electrical connectors (9) to the carrier plate (1.3) and lock.
35	Contact the electrical connectors (9).
36.1	Clean and apply preservation agent to the connections on the voltage dip limiter.	If the wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1) has not been replaced.	AR54.10-D-0014-01TS
		Nut, positive line to voltage dip limiter	*BA54.18-N-1003-02TS
		Anti-corrosion wax, Tectyl 846-K-19, 1 liter	*BR00.45-Z-1022-05A
36.2	Apply preservation agent to the connections on the voltage dip limiter.	If the wiring harness for the starter and alternator (1) has been replaced.	AR54.10-D-0014-01TS

37	Install cover (7).	Ensure that the cover (7) is properly engaged.
38	Fix the electrical wiring harness (6) with the clamp (5).
39	Connect electrical connector (8).
40	Guide the positive line (1.1) into the battery box (4) and fix.
41	Install the duct (1.2) on the battery box (4).
42	Install underfloor paneling.	Model 907 with engine 651 with code MJ8 (ECO start/stop function) with code XM1 (Noise reduction)	AR61.30-D-1001TS
43	Install lower engine compartment lining.	Model 907 with engine 651 with code MJ8 (ECO start/stop function) with code XM1 (Noise reduction)	AR61.20-D-1105TS
44	Position the positive line (1.1) on the battery clamp (3) and attach the nut (2).	Nut, positive line to connection for battery clamp	*BA54.10-N-1005-01TS
45	Connect the ground line to the auxiliary battery.	Model 907 with code E2I (Auxiliary battery for retrofit consumers, interior)	AR54.10-D-0004TS
