Remove/Install Fuel Filter - Ar47.20-D-5510TSR

Engine 651 in model 907

  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove engine cover.   AR01.10-D-2405TSR
2 Open clamps (2). IMPORTANT Dispose of clamps (2).
SPECIAL TOOL Pliers for click clamps

3 Remove fuel hoses (3) from the fuel filter (1). IMPORTANT Collect escaping fuel. Seal connections.

4 Disconnect electrical connector (4).    
5 Unclip hose (5) from the bracket (10). Engine 651 in model 907
with code KL5 (Fuel filter with water separator)
If the hose (5) and the bracket (10) are already installed.
 
6 Remove hose (5) from the fuel filter heater (6) Engine 651 in model 907
with code KL5 (Fuel filter with water separator)
If the hose (5) is installed and a new fuel filter (1) is installed.
 
7 Open clamps (7) and remove fuel filter (1) upward.    
INSTALLING Install     
8 Retrofit bracket (10). If the hose (5) and bracket (10) are not yet installed.  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Fuel filter installation position changed Engine 651 in model 907
with code KL5 (Fuel filter with water separator)
IMPORTANT Changed state: Hose (5) and the bracket (10) installed as shown.
IMPORTANT To do this, remove ball head (11), install new bracket (10) with ball head (11), and tighten ball head (11).

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6 *BA00.10-N-1002-01  A
9 Install fuel filter (1) and close clamps (7). NOTES
Align installation marking (8) of the fuel filter (1) with the gap (arrow) on the bracket (9). Otherwise an unstressed installation of the fuel hoses (3) will not be achieved.
 
10 Attach hose (5) to the fuel filter heater (6). Engine 651 in model 907
with code KL5 (Fuel filter with water separator)
If the hose (5) is installed and a new fuel filter (1) was installed.
IMPORTANT Check hose (5) for wear and damage.
If the hose (5) is damaged,

Install new hose (5).
 
11 Clip the hose (5) into the bracket (10). Engine 651 in model 907
with code KL5 (Fuel filter with water separator)
If the hose (5) and the bracket (10) are installed.
 
12 Retrofit drain hose (12). Engine 651 in model 907
with code KL5 (Fuel filter with water separator)
If the drain hose (12) is not installed.
IMPORTANT To do this, connect the drain hose (12) to the hose (5) and clip into the bracket (13).
 
13 Connect electrical connector (4) to the fuel filter heater (6).    
14 Slide new clamps (2) onto the fuel hoses (3).    
15 Attach fuel hoses (3) to the fuel filter (1). IMPORTANT Check fuel hoses (3) for wear and damage.
IMPORTANT Remove the stop plugs.
SPECIAL TOOL Record plug
If the fuel hoses (3) are damaged,

Install new fuel hoses (3).

16 Close clamps (2). NOTES
Observe positioning of the clamps (2). Leaks can occur otherwise.

17 Install engine cover.   AR01.10-D-2405TSR
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
18 Check for leak tightness when engine is running. IMPORTANT Visual inspection only.
