Purpose And Scope

The purpose of this Recommended Practice (RP) is to promote compatibility of service tool and fleet management software products when they reside on the same PC. This RP provides guidelines to software developers for the physical placement and installation of software files pertinent to their Windows PC based application. These guidelines are not intended to address the content of the software, only the environment in which the software will function.

This RP is applicable to service tool and fleet management software products used to service commercial vehicles.
