Left Hand Drive: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Fiat 500X. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check that the Body Control Module (BCM) assembly is not damaged.
  2. Connect the electrical connections on the rear side of the assembly.
  3. Place the BCM in position and secure the retainers to the bracket.
  4. Connect the electrical connections on the front side of the assembly.
  5. Place the diagnosis connector support in its housing and tighten the retaining screw.
  6. Install the cowl trim panel. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Connect the negative battery terminal.
  9. Perform BCM programming.
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
