- Expose spot welds on side reinforcement (area A) and spot welds on the vehicle floor (area B).
Commercially available devices/tools Rotary wire brush
- Mill off spot welds on side reinforcement (area A) and spot welds on the vehicle floor (area B).
Commercially available devices/tools Spot weld milling machine
- Expose weld seams on the spring bracket (1) (areas C1
and C2
).
Commercially available devices/tools Rotary wire brush
- Separate weld seams on the spring bracket (1) (areas C1 and C2 ).
- Mark separating points on the spring bracket (1) (areas D and E).
Mark separating points along the edges.
- Separate spring bracket (1) at the separating points (areas D and E).
Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components underneath will be damaged and strength will be impaired.

- Remove damaged spring bracket (1).
Commercially available devices/tools Straight grinder
- Expose spot welds on remaining pieces (2) (area F).
Commercially available devices/tools Rotary wire brush
- Mill off spot welds on remaining pieces (2) (area F).
Commercially available devices/tools Spot weld milling machine
- Remove remaining sections (2).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas and around the holes.

- Remove shavings and milling chips.
