Remove/Install Fan SHROUC - Ar20.40-D-6800TSV

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove air filter housing.   AR09.10-D-1150TSV
2 Unclip the hose (2) and place it to one side.    
3 Detach the hose (3) from the cooler. IMPORTANT Detach the hose (3). Collect coolant which flows out. Seal connections.

4 Remove cover (4). IMPORTANT To do this, unclip cover (4) from fan shroud (1).  
5 Disconnect electrical connector (5).    
6 Remove bolt (6).    
7 Place the electrical line (7) outside of the working area.    
8 Remove the support (9). IMPORTANT Remove screw/bolt (8) to do this.  
9 Unscrew the nuts (10) and place the fan (11) in the fan cowl (1).
Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths
IMPORTANT When doing so, counterhold the belt pulley. AH00.00-P-0015-01CW
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, fan clutch to mechanical fan motor hub *BA20.40-N-1002-01TS

10 Release the fan cowl (1) at the catch hooks (12) and pull upward. IMPORTANT Installation: Make sure that the guides (arrows) on the cooler and charge air cooler are correctly positioned.  
11 Remove the fan cowl (1) together with the fan (11) by moving it upward. NOTES
Carefully remove the fan cowl (1) with the fan (11).
Neighboring assembly parts can get damaged otherwise.
 
12 Install the guard plate on the cooler. If further work is carried out in the area of the cooler.  
REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS Guard plate for radiator/condenser   WF58.50-S-0110-01S
13 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
14 Check coolant level. Depending on the findings,

Correct coolant level.
Drain/pour in coolant

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15 Check the leaktightness of the cooler when the engine is running. IMPORTANT Visual inspection only.
