Engine 274 in model 907
The
assembly link (01) is required to pull in the timing chain (2).
- Cover timing case chamber with clean rag.
The timing case shaft must be covered with clean rag to protect against falling parts before doing work on the timing chain. Parts which have nevertheless managed to fall into the timing case recess must be removed.
Engine damage may occur otherwise.
- Connect new timing chain (2) and old timing chain (1) together using the assembly link (01).
- Remove the cloths from the timing case slot.
- Slowly turn the crankshaft with the
socket in direction of engine rotation and pull in the new timing chain (2) until the ends of the new timing chain (2) can be connected.
Pull out the freed up ends of the old timing chain (1) evenly, according to the pulling in of the new timing chain (2).
- Cover over timing case slot with a clean rag.
- Remove assembly link (01).
The assembly link (01) must be removed.
