Support System And Support Services

The support system is an interface for drivers, enforcement officials, and carrier managers to monitor and control collected data. It often includes multiple functions in monitoring driver compliance, managing log records archives, and managing the operations of and data transfers with vehicle systems. There are implementation to support data transfers between systems used by different carriers although drivers are required to provide complete certified logs to each carrier if time is split between carriers.

multiple forms for current implementations of support systems, from cloud-based computing services, turnkey service providers, and to completely integrated enterprise systems architectures. On a limited scale, standalone computers (e.g., laptops) may be used. Options for service provider support system functions are also outlined below for the "services" layer of the general framework. Support services for electronic driver log systems cover a number of service areas that can be bundled for full service/turnkey providers, partially bundled with the carrier coordinating multiple service providers, and even in-sourced for carriers that provide their own system services capabilities.
