Remove/Install Engine Oil Directional Control Valve - AR18.10-P-0002MSA

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove charge-air distributor. IMPORTANT Only install upper engine cover after the leak test. AR09.41-P-8683MSA
2 Remove additional compressor. Engine 256.9 in model 213 238 257 290 with code M016 (Uprated engine) AR09.50-P-4770MSA
3 Remove directional control valve and collect escaping engine oil with a rag. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools  Socket wrench 30 mm
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Directional control valve to crankcase
*BA18.00-P-1005-02MRT 
    SPECIAL TOOL Torque wrench Fig 2
4 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
5 Check engine oil level and correct.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Engine 256.9 in model 213, 238, 290 AP18.00-P-1812MKI 
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Engine 256.9 in model 257 AP18.00-P-1812BKI
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
6 Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leaktightness and leaktightness.    
7 Install upper engine cover.   AR01.10-P-2405MSA
