Location 

The right front door control unit is located on the door module behind the door lining.

Tasks 

The right front door control unit has the following tasks:

• Reading in of signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 
• Transmitting signals 

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Right front door LIN (LIN B6) 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

• Right front door rotary tumbler switch (A85/1s1)
• Right front power window motor Hall sensor (M104)
• Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2) (with CODE 275 (Memory package))
• Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3) (with CODE 275 (Memory package))
• Passenger-side power window switch (S21/2)
• Right front door central locking inside door handle switch (S85/6)

Right front door LIN 

The signals for the following components are read in by the right front door LIN:

• (S23) Front right switch group, seat adjustment (with CODE 222 (Electrically adjustable front seat) or CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable passenger seat with memory function)):
  • Right front head restraint adjustment switch (S23s1) (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))
  • Right front seat inclination adjustment switch (S23s2)
  • Right front seat fore/aft adjustment switch (S23s3)
  • Right front seat height adjustment switch (S23s4)
  • Right front backrest adjustment switch (S23s5)
  • Right front seat cushion length adjustment switch (S23s6) (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))
  • Right front memory function switch (S23s7) (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))
  • Right front memory switch 1 (S23s8) (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))
  • Right front memory switch 2 (S23s9) (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))
  • Right front memory switch 3 (S23s10) (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))
• Front right seat climate control switch group (S51/2) (with code 401 (seat climate control for driver and front passenger) or code 873 (seat heating for driver and front passenger)):
  • Right front seat heater switch (S51/2s2)
  • Right front seat ventilation switch (S51/2s3) (with CODE 401 (Seat climate control for driver and front passenger))

Interior CAN 

The right front door control unit reads in the following signals via the interior CAN:

• Crash signal
• Terminal status of terminal 15
• Open/close central locking (CL) request
• Convenience feature mode (with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Convenience feature direction (with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• PRE-SAFE® adjustment request (with CODE 299 (PRE-SAFE® system))
• Request to move to memory position (with CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory function))

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that are read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are actuated.

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

• Right front door central locking motor (A85/1m1)
• Right front door additional door lock actuator motor (A85/1m4) (with code (885) Increased theft protection)
• Right front door exit and warning lamp (E17/4) (Model 205.0/1/2 with code 876 (Interior Light Package))
• Right front door warning lamp (E17/21) and right front door exit lamp (E17/73) (Model 205.3/4 with code 876 (Interior Light Package))
• Right front door outer door handle illumination (E17/8) (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Right front door handle illumination (E17/12) (with CODE 876 (Interior lights package))
• Right front door ambient lighting (E17/44) (Model 205 with code 877 (Ambient lighting) up to 01.03.2018, Model 253 except 253.99 with code 877 (Ambient lighting))
• Right front door handle ambient lighting (E17/56) (Model 205 with code 877 (ambient lighting) up to 01.03.2018, Model 253 except 253.99 with code 877 (Ambient lighting))

• Right front power window motor
• Right outside mirror (M21/2):
  • Right outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/6)
  • Right outside mirror ambient lamp (M21/2e1) (with CODE P49 (Mirror package))
  • Readiness and warning display for right Blind Spot Assist (M21/2e2) (with code 23P (Driving Assistance Package), with code 234 (Blind Spot Assist) or code 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist))
  • Mirror dimming (M21/2h1) (with CODE 249 (Automatically dimming mirror))
  • Vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m1)
  • Horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M21/2m2)
  • Electric fold-in/out outside mirror motor (M21/2m3) (with CODE 500 (Electric folding outside mirror))
  • Mirror heater (M21/2r1)

The right front door control unit supplies the connected control elements with circuit 58d.

Model 253.99 with code 877 (ambient lighting)

The right front door control unit supplies the ambient lighting in the door with voltage.

Right front door LIN 

The right front door control unit sends the following signals via the right front door LIN:

• Status indication for seat heater (with code 401 (Seat climate control for driver and front passenger) or code 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
• Status indication for seat ventilation (with code 401 (Seat climate control for driver and front passenger))

Transmitting signals 

The right front door control unit also sends the following signals via the interior CAN:

• Status of right front door (open/closed)
• Seat ventilation request (with code 401 (Seat climate control for driver and front passenger))
• Seat heater request (with CODE 401 (Seat climate control for driver and front passenger) or CODE 873 (Seat heater for driver and front passenger))
• Seat adjustment request (with CODE 222 (Electrically adjustable front seat) or CODE 242 (Electrically adjustable passenger seat with memory function))

The right front door control unit forwards the actuation of the ambient lighting in the door from the ambient lighting control unit (N162) via the right front door ambient lighting LIN (LIN B31).
