Engine start/stop system (MSS) activated

The message "ECO" (1) appears on the IC (A1), if the MSS system is activated by the engine start, the ECO indicator in the IC and engine start/stop switch (S2/6) (model 906 up to model year 2013) or the ECO switch (N72/1s12) (model 639) or the ECO button (N72/1s12) (for model 906 as of model year 2013). Shifting must take place once in the next higher gear for starting the MSS system (for transmission 711.6), the gear range "D" is switched in (for transmission 722.9) and a minimum speed of 2 km/h is exceeded.

The message "ECO" (1) appears permanently on the IC if the engine is switched off by the MSS system and goes out if the MSS system is switched off, or the preconditions are not fulfilled.

IMPORTANT With transmission 711.6

If a situation arises in which the driver must engage neutral in order to get into stop mode then this is indicated to him by the gearshift recommendation "N" in the IC.

IMPORTANT Once the engine has been switched off by the MSS system, the "ECO" (1) indicator flashes and the engine must be started by actuating the connector (for transmission 711.6) or releasing the brake (for transmission 722.9).
