On Monday, October 11, 2010, Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC will begin Diagnostic Verification of for the following diesel fuel components:
- Low Pressure Fuel Pump
- High Pressure Fuel pump
- Left or Right Fuel Distributor
- Fuel Injectors
- Pressure Sensor

MBUSA has posted a Diagnostic Verification form that can be found on: NetStar → Service → STAR TekInfo → Diagnostic Verification Proj → Diesel Fuel Components.
Under this program, all Model Series/Warrantable Model Years with the above listed components will require Diagnostic Verification prior to replacement. This will be in accordance with the program terms summarized below.
- The technician shall conduct an accurate assessment and complete documentation of the problem by using the Diagnostic Verification form for the above listed components in the model series indicated above through NetStar → Service → STAR TekInfo → Diagnostic Verification Proj → Diesel Fuel Components.
- Upon completion of the form, click on the 'submit' button to send the form to Dealer Technical Support (DTS). A Diagnostic Verification case number will be displayed upon submission. Supporting documentation (e.g. Short Test, Control Unit Log, Freeze Frame Data & pictures of damaged parts where appropriate) must then be sent to diag_ver@mbusa.com with the case number in the subject line as a reference. Once the form and supporting documentation are received, the case will be reviewed. After review, you will be notified via e-mail (to the address listed on the form) if the diagnosis is verified. Warranty Services Group will also be updated when the diagnosis is verified.
- Once a diagnosis for replacement is verified, the replacement can be performed and a warranty claim submitted. When the claimed part is submitted, the claims processing system will validate that verification has been obtained. Failure to submit the required paperwork with the claim will result in automatic debiting. Returning a claimed part without a Diagnostic Verification may result in automatic debiting of the claim.
- If the QEC inspection does not confirm the documented diagnosis from the Diagnostic Verification authorized case, the claim is subject to debit.
Please refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to specify parts accordingly and refer to Paragon to check availability of the specified parts. If you have any questions with specification or availability, contact the PAC.
