Coding on coupling housing changed - BT54.18-P-0002-01CW

MODEL 204 with CODE (428) Steering wheel shift paddles 

There are two variants for the coding of the connector for the upshift steering wheel gearshift button to the driver airbag unit (5).

Variant coding A on plug (7) and variant coding D on plug (6).

Replacement parts are always supplied with coding D. The coding of the connection should be checked when replacing these parts.

If a different coding of the plug (6, 7) to the coupling exists, the coding lug (2, 4) on the coupling housing (1, 3) of the upshift steering wheel gearshift button must be removed.

1. Remove coding lug (2) variant coding A on the coupling housing (1) of the upshift steering wheel gearshift button.

   Only if a new driver airbag unit (5) with variant coding D on plug (6) is fitted and the upshift steering wheel gearshift button has variant coding A on the coupling housing (3). Dimension B is 8.5 + 0.2 mm.

2. Remove coding lug (4) for variant coding D on coupling housing (3) of the upshift steering wheel gearshift button.

Only if a new upshift steering wheel gearshift button with variant coding D on coupling housing (3) is fitted and the driver airbag unit (5) has the variant coding A on the plug (7).

Dimension C is 8.5 + 0.2 mm.
