Fuel delivery module, function - GF47.20-P-4101-03IA

Fuel gage sensor function

The fuel level sensor (B4/1) is subdivided into sensor 1 (B4/1b1) and sensor 2 (B4/1b2). Both are float-and-lever sensor with Ried contact, i.e. the resistance is determined via a magnetic field. The two resistance values:

  1. Low resistance = fuel tank empty
  2. High resistance = fuel tank full

Splash bowl function

The splashpot (80/5) is filled reliably with fuel to a certain height via a line from the suction jet pump (80/4). When cornering with a low fuel level in the fuel tank (80) the splashpot prevents the fuel pump drawing in air

Suction spray pump function

The nozzle (A) in the suction jet pump (80/4) accelerates the returning fuel (R). The fuel jet produces a differential pressure and improves the fuel supply for the feed line (B) to the splashpot (80/5).
