Limiting the full-load injection quantity minimizes the smoke formation during full-load operation.
The CDI control unit limits the injection quantity during full-load operation. For this purpose, it lowers the rail pressure via the quantity control valve or the pressure regulator valve and injection timing via the fuel injectors.
In this way smoke formation is minimized on acceleration and during continuous driving at full load.
If a fault in boost pressure control is detected, the full load injection quantity is also reduced.
