Checking For Expanded Torque Convertor Due To Over-Revving





POSSIBLE COMPLAINT CONDITION:
In addition to engine damage, over-revving may cause a permanent expansion (or bulging) of torque convertor housing.

An expanded torque converter(or will contact and damage primary pump radial seal.

REMEDY:
1. Place torque convertor on flat surface (05) with primary pump flange facing down.

Dimension "A":





2. Measure dimension "A".
3. Compare measurement to chart listed below.
4. If dimension "A" exceeds maximum permissible height, replace torque convertor. If torque convertor must be replaced, also replace primary pump radial seal.
