Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove air filter.
2. Disconnect electrical plug on warm up regulator to avoid heating it up until cold control pressure is checked.
3. Bypass fuel pump relay to energize fuel pump.
4. Run pump for approx. 10 seconds to build up control pressure.
5. Depress air flow sensor plate manually. A uniform resistance should be felt along its entire path. No resistance should be felt during fast upward movement since the slowly following control piston lifts off the lever. If the air flow sensor plate is released slowly, the control piston should remain in contact with the lever.
NOTE: The sensor plate should not come in contact with any part of the housing. If the plate does touch the funnel, see SPECIFICATIONS AND ADJUSTMENTS for the adjustment procedure.
