PID/DATA monitor inspection
- Replace with new DEF. (See DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) REPLACEMENT .)
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
- Using the M-MDS, display the urea tank concentration (PID: DEF_CON). (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST .)
- Verify that the PID DEF_CON value is as specified.

- If the output value is out of the range, replace the quality sensor. (See DEF QUALITY SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
