July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Cruise Control Switch Inspection [L5]

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable wait for 1 min more. 
  2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Disconnect the cruise control switch connector. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  4. Inspect for resistance and continuity between cruise control switch terminals B-C using a tester.
    • If not as specified, replace the audio control switch. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).

      Cruise OFF switch held at on Continuity
      CANCEL switch held at on 117.6-122.4
      SET (-) switch held at on 294.0-306.0
      SET (+) switch held at on 588.0-612.0
      RESUME switch held at on 1,087.8-1,132.2
      Cruise ON switch held at on 2,067 8-2,152.2
      Neutral 4,223.8-4,396.2

  5. Apply battery positive voltage to audio control switch terminal D, and connect terminal E to ground.
  6. Verify that the LED illuminates.
    • If the LED does not illuminate, replace the audio control switch. (See AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
