Housing Assembly HVAC: Service and Repair

PLENUM CHAMBER REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

1. Remove the instrument panel. See INSTRUMENT PANEL - COMPONENT VIEW.
2. Drain the radiator. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 2.3L, or ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L.
3. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater/evaporator core.
4. Remove the heater/evaporator core housing.
5. Remove the nuts.

- Tighting torque 3.4-4.8 N.m {35 - 49 kgf.cm, 31-42 in.lbf}.

6. Remove the plenum chamber.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the coolant hoses with coolant hose lubricant or plain water if needed.
