Removal and Installation

NOTE:
  • Make sure the liftgate window glass is in the raised position.
  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. See INTERIOR TRIM .

  2. Disconnect the liftgate window latch.
    1. Disconnect the liftgate window latch ajar switch electrical connector.
    2. Open the clip and disconnect the actuating rod.
      NOTE:
      • Mark the position of the liftgate window latch prior to removing the nuts.

  3. Remove the 2 bolts and the liftgate window latch.
    • To install, tighten to:
      • 5 N-m (0.5 kgf-m, 44 in-lbf) (vehicles built through 10/2005).
      • 12 N-m (1.2 kgf-m, 9 ft-lbf) (vehicles built after 10/2005).
      NOTE:
      • The liftgate window latch must be checked to make sure the latch is installed and aligned correctly.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
