Possible Causes

PINPOINT TEST 9 THE SMART LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY THE SMART UNLOCK FEATURE IS ENABLED
  • Verify the smart unlock feature is enabled.
  • Is the smart unlock feature enabled? 
Yes Go to next step.
No Turn the feature ON with any configuration method.
2 CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION
  • Open and close the driver door.
  • Do the courtesy lamps operate correctly? 
Yes Go to next step.
No To diagnose the inoperative courtesy lamps, See PINPOINT TEST 1: THE INTERIOR LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE .
3 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PID
  • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the WDS or equivalent Tester:
  • Monitor the Instrument Cluster Ignition Switch Status PID.
  • Are the correct values received? 
Yes Go to next step.
No To diagnose for an incorrect ignition switch status PID, See COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
  • Disconnect all SJB connectors.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion
    • pushed-out pins
  • Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present? 
Yes INSTALL a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No TEST the system for normal operation. The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs.
REPEAT self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
