When Idling Cannot Be Continued

  1. Remove Oil Control Valve (OCV) and verify spool valve is at maximum retard position.
  2. Connect OCV.
  3. Turn ignition on.
  4. Verify spool valve is at maximum retard position. If spool valve is stuck in advance direction, inspect for short circuit in harnesses or connectors between OCV and PCM.
  5. Inspect variable timing actuator.
