Component Tests: CLOCKSPRING
Deactivate air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Remove driver's side air bag. Remove lower steering column cover. Disconnect clockspring harness connectors (4 connectors in all; 2 on each side of clockspring). See Fig 1 . Check continuity between clockspring terminals. See CLOCKSPRING CONTINUITY table. If continuity is not as specified, replace clockspring.
