Inspection
1. Warm up the engine to normal operation temperature and let it idle.




2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the charcoal canister side of the purge solenoid valve and connect a vacuum gauge.
3. By using the vacuum gauge, verify that there is no vacuum.
4. If there is vacuum, check the following.
^ PCM terminal voltage
Purge control signal
^ Purge solenoid valve
5. Position the vehicle on a chassis roller and shift the selector lever to D (ATX).
6. Run the engine at approx. 2,000 rpm.
7. Verify that there is vacuum after 30 sec. running.
8. If there is no vacuum, check the following.
^ PCM terminal voltage
Mass air flow sensor VGP signal
Load/No load distinction signal
^ Purge solenoid valve
