Continuity Cycle Test
Remove speedometer from instrument cluster. Connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1J and 2A at the 2 printed circuit connectors. See Fig 1 . Rotate the speedometer drive cable. Ensure a continuity pulse cycle of 4 times per revolution. If continuity does not cycle 4 times per revolution, replace speed sensor. If pulse cycles are okay, check wiring circuits between speedometer and control unit. If wiring is okay, suspect a faulty control unit.
