Knock Control System
- With engine at normal operating temperature, check ignition timing. Ensure voltage at ECU connector terminal No. 1U is approximately 12 volts.
- Disconnect single wire service connector at ECU. Tap engine hanger and note ignition timing. If timing does not retard, replace knock sensor and retest.
- If timing retards, connect single wire service connector and retest. If timing retards, replace knock control unit. If timing does not, system is okay.
