DTC U0428: Invalid Data Received from the Steering Angle Sensor Module: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Lincoln MKZ and 2018 Lincoln Continental. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The PSCM monitors the HS-CAN messages when the ignition has been on for more than 5 seconds, the voltage to the PSCM is greater than 9 volts and there are no DTCs present that are inhibiting PSCM operation. The SASM is attached to the SCCM and sends steering angle information directly to the SCCM. The SCCM then sends the information as messages to the PSCM over the HS-CAN.
