Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
  2. Remove the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
  3. Remove the child safety seat tether anchor latch.
    1. Position the rear insulator aside.
    2. Remove the child safety seat tether anchor latch bolts.
    3. Remove the tether latch.
  4. WARNING: It is important that the anchor/latch be tightened to specification. Otherwise, the child's safety seat may not be properly secured and the child can be injured in case of a sudden stop or accident.
    NOTE: No attempt should be made to repair a child safety seat tether anchor latch. Install a new part if damage is verified.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • When installing the LATCH, make sure the alignment tabs are correctly aligned with the slots in the floor plan sheet metal.
  6. Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
