Removal And Installation
- Remove the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
- Remove the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to SEATING .
- Remove the child safety seat tether anchor latch.
- Position the rear insulator aside.
- Remove the child safety seat tether anchor latch bolts.
- Remove the tether latch.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- When installing the LATCH, make sure the alignment tabs are correctly aligned with the slots in the floor plan sheet metal.
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
WARNING:
It is important that the anchor/latch be tightened to specification. Otherwise, the child's safety seat may not be properly secured and the child can be injured in case of a sudden stop or accident.
NOTE:
No attempt should be made to repair a child safety seat tether anchor latch. Install a new part if damage is verified.
