Resistance Test

  1. Remove glow plug control module cover. Remove large connector from module. Connect one lead of ohmmeter to ground and other lead into each terminal of large connector. See Fig 1 .

  2. Resistance of each glow plug should be .3-.6 ohms. If resistance is correct, go to GLOW PLUG MODULE  .
  3. If an open circuit condition exists, replace glow plug. If resistance is not within specifications (after replacing a bad plug), wiring between module and glow plug must be replaced.
NOTE: Prior to glow plug installation, coat glow plug threads with anti-seize compound.
