Cold Start Advance Solenoid
The cold start advance solenoid, located on the left side of the injector pump housing, is activated by a temperature switch on the cylinder head. The solenoid increases pressure inside the injection pump housing, which advances timing. The temperature switch is activated below 86°F (30°C). See Fig 1 .
