Draining & Refilling

  1. On C-3 and C-5 transmissions, disconnect fluid filler tube from transmission pan to drain fluid. Remove oil pan. On all other models, loosen oil pan attaching bolts to drain fluid. Remove oil pan.
  2. On C-3 and C-5 transmissions, remove and clean filter screen. Reinstall filter screen using a new gasket. On AOT trans- missions, discard used filter and gasket. Install new filter and gasket. On all models, clean oil pan and install new gasket.
  3. On C-3 and C-5 transmissions, connect fluid filler tube to oil pan and tighten fitting. On all models, pour 3 quarts of fluid through filler tube. Check fluid level.
