Description & Operation

Keyless entry system enables vehicle to be locked and unlocked without use of a key. A row of buttons on driver's door controls system. Pressing correct combination will unlock driver's door and turn on courtesy lights.

Pressing other buttons opens all doors and trunk lid, or locks all doors. System will automatically lock all doors when driver's seat is occupied (except Thunderbird with Recaro seats), all doors are closed, ignition is "ON", or vehicle is in gear.

System components include door buttons, special wiring harnesses and a microcomputer/relay module. The module is located behind right side cowl panel on Town Car models or below rear package shelf in luggage compartment on all other models. Also included are power door locks and power trunk release.
