Oil Supply

The turbine wheel, shaft and compressor wheel can reach 140,000 RPM. Clean engine oil is absolutely necessary. Oil is fed directly to the center housing rotating assembly. Any problems with the oil supply will result in major turbocharger damage. An oil feed pipe runs from a fitting on the block to the turbocharger. An oil return runs from the turbocharger to crankcase.

NOTE: If oiling system becomes contaminated, change oil and filter, and flush turbocharger with clean oil. If all or part of center housing rotating assembly is replaced, change oil and filter.
