Control Valves: Notes

NOTE: Beginning 7 Jan. 1973 Cadillac phased into production the Valves In Receiver (VIR) system. The VIR unit combines expansion valve, POA valve, receiver-drier, and sight glass into one unit (see Fig 1). Service procedures below will include the new VIR and the traditional POA systems.
