Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus LS 600hL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: When using the Intelligent tester or Techstream with the power switch OFF to troubleshoot:
Connect the Intelligent tester or Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.

HINT:

DTC B2325 is output when the communication between all of the following components and main body ECU stops

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Recheck for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR )

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    DTC B1206 output reoccurs A
    DTC B1206 output does not reoccur B

    B: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - MASTER SWITCH)

    1. Disconnect the L11 ECU connector
    2. Disconnect the N13 switch connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    L11-10 (LIN2) - N13-17 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
    L11-10 (LIN2) or N13-17 (LIN1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N13 switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    N13-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    N13-11 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the master switch assembly with a new or normally functioning one (see REMOVAL )
    2. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR )
  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Recheck for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR )

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    DTC B1206 output does not reoccur A
    DTC B1206 output reoccurs B

    B: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    A: END (MASTER SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE)
