July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

DTC Check / Clear

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lexus SC 430. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK INDICATOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch ON while pressing the A/C control AUTO switch and Recirculation / Fresh (R/F) select switch simultaneously.

    2. Check that the indicators turn on and off 4 times at 1 second intervals.

      HINT:

      After the indicator check is completed, the system enters the DTC check mode automatically.

  2. CHECK DTC (SENSOR CHECK) 

    When not Using Intelligent Tester:

    1. After the indicator check is completed, the system enters the DTC check mode automatically.

      HINT:

      • Press the OFF switch to cancel the check mode.
      • In the sensor check mode, troubleshooting may be partially performed. Be sure to perform the actuator check and sensor check again.
    2. Read the DTCs displayed on the panel (temperature display). Refer to the list of DTCS  on when reading the codes.

    3. If a slower display speed is desired, press the driver temperature up switch to change the Step No. display. Each press of the switch will change the step by  1.

  3. CHECK DTC 

    When Using Intelligent Tester:

    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Read the DTCs by following the directions on the tester screen.

      HINT:

      Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

  4. CLEAR DTC 

    When not Using Intelligent Tester:

    1. There are 2 methods for clearing the DTC memory.
      1. During the sensor check, press the DEF switch and Rear DEF switch at the same time.

      2. Pull out the A/C fuse in the passenger side junction block for 20 seconds or longer.

  5. CLEAR DTC 

    When Using Intelligent Tester:

    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Erase the DTCs by following the directions on the tester screen.

      HINT:

      Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.
