DTC Check/Clear

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS F. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. DTC CHECK (USING SST CHECK WIRE) 
    1. Check for DTCs
      1. Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3

        SST 09843-18040 

      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      3. Read and record any DTCs indicated by the multi-information display on the combination meter.

        HINT.

        • If the multi-information display does not indicate any DTCs or the normal system code, inspect the TC and CG terminal circuit.

          TC and CG terminal circuit TC AND CG TERMINAL CIRCUIT 
        • If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time, the lowest numbered DTC is displayed first.

      4. Refer to the DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  for DTC information.
      5. After completing the check, turn the engine switch off and remove SST from the DLC3.

        SST 09843-18040 

  2. DTC CHECK (USING TECHSTREAM) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Read the DTCs following the prompts on the Techstream Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor/ Trouble Codes.
    6. Refer to the DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  for DTC information .
  3. DTC CLEAR 

    HINT:

    After repairing the malfunctions, clear the DTCs

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on
    4. Clear the DTCs following the prompts on the Techstream Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor/ Trouble Codes.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, select the trouble code data display with the clear button.
